Palm Springs Unifed School District offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package to eligible employees and their eligible dependents. This includes:
A selection of 24 medical plans
Three dental plan options
District-paid employee basic life insurance (ranging from $50,000 to $300,000 based on position)
District-paid accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) $2,000 policy
An employee assistance program
A district wellness program.
In addition to district paid benefits, there are a wide variety of voluntary benefits available, including, but not limited to::

A variety of medical plans are available to meet the diverse needs of active employees and retirees.
Teamsters I & II will be moving their medical plans to the Teamsters Misc. Trust Fund there will be 3 new plans offered. All Classified Employees must complete a new enrollment form for their new medical plan.

- Anthem Blue Cross PPO ($500/$1500 Deductible 80/20 Plan)

Certificated and Confidential Management
California Value Trust (CVT) administers medical benefits for Certificated, Management and Confidential employees.

There are three dental plans to choose from and a vision care plan:
- DeltaCare Dental HMO
- Delta Dental PPO
- Delta Dnetal Incentive
- Vision Service Plan
Life Insurance and Accidental Death Benefits are provided, at no cost to the employee, for all employees working four or more hours per day or at least 20 hours per week. The amount of basic life insurance is dependent on employee group classification while the AD&D is in the amount of $2,000 for everyone.
Additional Accidental Death Insurance may be purchased, by the employee, for the employee and/or dependents.
Each medical plan includes a wellness component that promotes the mental and physical wellbeing of employees. To complement those programs, PSUSD also had a district Fit for Life program, providing access to services including:
Flu Shots – free of charge at local CVS pharmacy
Health screenings hosted at annual health fair: total cholesterol & high density lipids (TC/HDL), blood pressure, body mass index (BMI) and glucose.
“Lighten Up” is our staff weight loss competition held in the fall and spring each year. The three-month program consists of teams of two, three or four working together to lose those unwanted pounds. Prizes for the winners each month and cash prizes at the end of each competition for winning individual and teams. Fall session will launch at Eat Smart, Play Hard Festival in October. Our staff members have lost nearly 5,000 pounds over the past five years.

Desert Regional Hospital will be providing free flu shots in the fall for all interested staff members. The immunizations will be provided at our Eat Smart Play Hard Festival in October.
Our annual Eat Smart, Play Hard Festival is a staff health and fitness fair featuring more than 25 local medical providers including free health screenings, dental providers, chiropractic care, fitness facilities and non-profit health and wellness organizations as well as food samples, competitions and entertainment. The Festival is held in October each year at one of our middle schools.
