School Site CIPA Requirements 

This is a guide to the Common Sense Media courses: CIPA required material guidelines

All Schools must complete each year the following;

1.  Each School must ensure that each student completes the following curriculum: Teacher Resources and student curriculum

2.  Each School must certify that each student has completed the PSUSD, State and Federal required curriculum by sumitting the Teacher CIPA Certification Sheet to ETIS (Required as per Board Policy 6163.4, CIPA and the Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act.) 

3. Each School Principal must ensure that each student has completed the PSUSD, State and Federal required curriculum by submitting the Principal/School CIPA Certification Sheet to ETIS (Required as per Board Policy 6163.4, CIPA and the Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act.) 

 

CIPA Requirements

PSUSD has updated the Internet Safety Plan within the District Technology Plan (Section: 3g) with the Educational Technology Addendum to the PSUSD Technology Internet Safety Plan to comply with the Act and the FCC released CIPA rule revisions of August 2011, incorporating the E-Rate program provisions of the Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act. 

The PSUSD Board of Education reviewed the Educational Technology Addendum to the PSUSD Technology Internet Safety Plan. This addendum to the Internet Security Plan contains the new CIPA requirements and has been discussed and was approved during the public board meeting on May 22, 2012.

In addition to the Addendum the PSUSD Internet Safety Plan contains the following;

  • Board Policy 6163.4, Student Use of Technology
  • Administrative Regulation 6134.4, Student use of Technology
